Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan joint startup competition proposed

Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Ibrohim Abdurahmonov held talks with Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Services to Citizens and Social Innovations of Azerbaijan (ASAN) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting the issue of development and strengthening of relations between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations and the State Agency for Services to Citizens and Social Innovations of Azerbaijan (ASAN) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was discussed. The sides exchanged views on the issue of opening representative offices of each party in the neighboring country. In particular, the issue of opening of "Azerbaijan Innovation and Technology Center" on the territory of Inno Technopark under the Ministry and "INNO Innovation and Technology Representative Center" on the territory of InnoLand Incubation Acceleration Center of Azerbaijan was discussed. The necessity of organizing a joint startup competition "Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan" to support and finance young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas aimed at solving social problems was noted. The sides also emphasized the importance of establishing cooperation in technology transfer, information technology, education, medicine, agriculture and industry.

Mr. Ulvi Mehdiyev provided information about the ASAN application platform and spoke about the advantages of this national system of accepting applications aimed at solving social problems. The parties exchanged ideas on the possibilities of creating a new platform for receiving requests and applications from university students and solving existing problems with the help of artificial intelligence on the basis of this system.

In addition, the parties agreed to organize joint online and offline events, international and local startup exhibitions, meetings, conferences aimed at solving specific tasks and problems.
