On October 6 of this year, the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Komiljon Karimov met with the Ambassador of Canada to Uzbekistan Alison Leclerc.

K. Karimov introduced the guest in detail to the reforms, changes and further plans in the development of higher education, science and innovation. In turn, E. Leclerc paid special attention to the development of cooperation between higher educational institutions of the two countries.

The parties discussed the possibilities of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of education and science.

In particular, issues of establishing cooperation in the field of vocational education, training mid-level personnel suitable for the Canadian labor market and their employment opportunities in Canada, as well as organizing joint programs between higher educational institutions were discussed.

Canadian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Alison LeClair highly appreciated the scale of cooperation opportunities with Uzbekistan and expressed the embassy’s readiness to assist the ministry in cooperation in the areas discussed.
