
Effective Use of Authoritative International Scientific Databases and Enhancing the Level of Digital Transformation of Libraries
On November 14, 2024, the Uzexpocentre in Tashkent hosted a seminar titled "Effective Use of Authoritative International Scientific Databases and Enhancing the Level of Digital Transformation of Libraries" as part of the "InnoWeek.Uz-2024" International Week of Innovative Ideas.
The seminar was opened by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Zulaykho Bakhriddinovna Makhkamova. Representatives from research institutes, higher education institutions, and international experts with experience in working with scientific databases participated in the event.
During the seminar, specialists from leading companies such as Clarivate and MIKRO Information Handling and Distribution FZE presented modern approaches to the effective use of scientific databases and resources. Lyaziya Mukasheva, Clarivate's representative for Central Asia, highlighted opportunities for finding and obtaining grants using the Web of Science and Pivot-RP platforms. Alexandra Follett, a representative from Clarivate for Library Software, shared her perspective on modern digital solutions for library management based on the Alma system. Additionally, Mehmet T. Haseki from MIKRO Information Handling and Distribution FZE discussed innovative methods for evaluating scientific activities through the GCRIS system.
The event concluded with a roundtable Q&A session, allowing participants to engage with experts on topics of interest
