The fourth meeting of the SPECA working group on the topic “Innovation and technology for sustainable development” was held

Today, as part of the international week of innovative ideas “Innoweek.uz-2023”, the fourth meeting of the SPECA working group on the topic “Innovation and technology for sustainable development” was held.
The event was attended by a representative of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies and Development (IDS), IDD, ESCAP representative Rumen Dobrinsky, Strategy Director of the European Innovation Alliance Lyudmila Tautieva, UNECE adviser and more than 10 representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, representatives of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan , Uzbekistan.

UNECE Authorized Representative for Economic Affairs Kristofer Athey noted that SPECA (Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia) is carried out to support regional cooperation in the development of innovation policies for sustainable development, acceleration, incubation, innovation projects and the implementation of targeted innovations.

Foreign and local experts and entrepreneurs shared their thoughts and experiences of using innovative technologies and opportunities in countries. During the meeting, issues of joint implementation of projects were also discussed between the parties.

During the conversation, issues of attracting investment to the country by supporting the most active and interested industry participants working in various industries were also discussed.
